Watershed TreeCaching provides an opportunity for trail users to embark on a self guided tour of the landscape. Working together, Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), Peel Aboriginal Network, Heart Lake Community Action Area Group and the City of Brampton, created the Medicine Wheel Garden ( Gitigaan Mashkiki) at Heart Lake Conservation Park, a space for healing, celebration and peace. The concept of a medicine wheel garden at Heart Lake came as a vision from a male elder of the Anishnawbe Nation. Wander past hidden marshes and along a wooden boardwalk, discovering more of the beauty of the forest with every step. Curved trails guide you up hills, through flowered meadows, and past a still kettle lake nestled deep in the forest’s heart. Tall ridges surround you as you enter the woodlands. Heart Lake Conservation Park’s hiking trails offer some of the most panoramic vistas in southern Ontario. With 10 picnic sites located throughout the park, Heart Lake Conservation Park can easily accommodate groups, both large and small.
